Torpids 2017

Winter training is not pleasant.  Darkness, Doris and drop outs, result in flags, frantic cox bribing and cancellations.  Time and time again you ask yourself why you are not still in bed.  But when you are part of a close and committed team, there is no question.

M1 – rowed over on day 1 with some tactical steering from Scott.  Unfortunately competition was strong and M1 were bumped on the last 3 days.

W1 – with only three experienced rowers, W1 had their work cut out for them in div 3.  Highlights were the strong row over on day 2, holding off St Anthony’s and almost over bumping Corpus, and then finally bumping Corpus on day 3.

M2 – novice boat coxed by Izzy Garratt, won a place in Torpids through Rowing On time trial.  They grew stronger as a team throughout Torpids and although bumped on the first three days, they won a bump on Worcester II on the Saturday!
