Olympic Gold Medalist Alex Gregory visits St Peter’s

On the 4th of May 2014, St Peter’s had the extraordinary pleasure of hosting GB rower Alex Gregory at the Master’s Canal House. Alex won gold at London 2012 in the cox-less four. In front of an audience including The Master Mark Damazer, London Bronze Medalist Constantine Louloudis, rowers of St Peter’s College Boat Club and other guests, Alex told the story of his rowing career. He gave a very personal account of how he overcame the struggles of his earlier career to finally succeed in rowing by winning world cup titles, and finally Olympic Gold. We are extremely grateful to Alex for taking the time to tell us his story and even answering individual questions. This will be a great motivation for SPCBC rowers to improve their own performance.

Alex came to St Peter’s on invitation of OUBC and SPCBC rower Ollie Bristowe who organized this event.
