The King Award for Most Improved Rower

St Peter’s College Boat Club had a lot to celebrate at Hilary term’s Boat Club Dinner. Between them, our two men’s crews and two women’s crews managed fourteen bumps in total, placing us at the top of the total bumps table for the whole university. This was a fantastic level of success and as great an achievement as possible in a bumps competition, apart from being Head of the River! A special mention must go to James Ghaffari who was the recipient of the King Award for Most Improved Rower for this term. The silverware accompanying this award was generously sponsored by the King family, and particularly served as a reminder of the continuous support the Boat Club has enjoyed from Francis King over the years. Francis was unable to join in our celebrations as he is still in the middle of a slow but promising recovery from a severe stroke last December. We hope to see him return to supporting SPCBC from the banks of the Isis in the near future.
