Oxford College Rowing
Rowing is the largest sports society at St Peter’s College and the boat club is a fun and friendly community on and off the water! College rowing is all about enjoyment, having fun with friends and making the most of a unique university experience.
SPCBC are based in University College Boat House, on the Isis in Oxford. We enter crews in three annual intercollegiate races: Michaelmas Novice Regatta, Torpids and Summer Eights

Racing
In recent years, we’ve had at least three men’s crews and three women’s crews in Torpids and Eights: a testament to the club’s recent growth.
Across several crews, we won eight blades from 2022-2024, including four blades in Summer Eights 2022! See our recent results at bumps.live.
Training Camp
Away from the Isis, we aim to have an annual training camp in Seville: a superb (and sunny) opportunity to practise ahead of Trinity Term, get to know the rest of the club, and have fun! We also have a training camp in Oxford in the week before Trinity Term starts.

Socials!
A vibrant social aspect of college life, the Boat Club has a Trinity Boat Club Dinner (to which alumni are invited), plus regular socials, crew dates and dinners throughout the year.
Regattas and Blues
Crews also compete in external regattas, including Bedford, Wallingford, and Henley Royal regattas, and The Head of the River Race on the Tideway. SPCBC members are also regularly selected to compete in the Oxford boats in the annual Boat Races.

World Record Holders!
In February 2024, we broke the world record for the Longest Continuous Row (Large Team Heavyweight Mixed 20-29) on a rowing machine. 83 participants rowed 1,628 miles (2,620,930 metres) over 10 days. Alongside this, we raised £4300 for the boat club and St Peter’s College Access and Outreach. See the official record page here!
The record has since been broken by Dutch student rowing association, Thêta, from Eindhoven University of Technology, setting the new record at 10 days and 7 hours in February 2025.
